Enhancements Optimize Trial Management, Reduce Costs and Ease Investigative Site Burden
PHILADELPHIA– September 28, 2015 –– ERT, a leading global provider of high-quality patient safety and efficacy endpoint data collection, cloud analytics and workflow solutions today announced enhancements to MasterScope, its comprehensive platform for spirometry, ECG, and home monitoring, especially designed for both standardized and centralized clinical trials.
MasterScope delivers an all-in-one solution that meets and exceeds the data collection and processing needs of worldwide clinical trial sponsors and Clinical Research Organizations (CROs) in the development of medical treatments for respiratory conditions such as Asthma and COPD – and in non-respiratory areas such as oncology and CNS to collect pulmonary safety and disease progression endpoints.
The enhanced version of MasterScope introduces unique features that optimize data quality, trial management, reduce costs and shorten timelines for pharmaceutical sponsors and CROs while boosting investigative site satisfaction and efficiency. The benefits of the new features, which are not yet available from other vendors include:
- Multi-protocol support minimizing equipment costs and logistics, speeding up trial initiation and also easing investigative site burden with fewer devices to set up, maintain and take up physical space at the site
--Wireless Local Area Network (Wi-Fi) and LAN connectivity with automatic, secure data transfers to optimize centralized overreads and device software updates, ensuring the latest protocol amendments are in use
“We listened closely to pharmaceutical sponsors and investigative site personnel to identify the MasterScope enhancements that would best meet their needs,” said Achim Schülke, Executive Vice President, Respiratory Solutions at ERT. “With the industry’s most flexible solution for true multi-protocol support, device reuse and the new data transfer options available, MasterScope continues to be the most advanced platform of its kind for cardiopulmonary diagnostics, helping sites and sponsors to achieve the highest data quality with ease of use, efficiency and cost effectiveness.”
ERT will demonstrate MasterScope and other innovative solutions in Booth 1.E_05 at the European Respiratory Society (ERS) International Congress, September 26-30, 2015 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

April 17th 2025In this episode of the Applied Clinical Trials Podcast, Liz Beatty, co-founder and chief strategy officer, Inato, discusses a number of topics around site engagement including community-based sites, the role of technology in improving site/sponsor relationships, how increased operational costs are impacting the industry, and more.
Behind the Buzz: Why Clinical Research Leaders Flock to SCOPE Summit
February 7th 2025In this episode, we meet with Micah Lieberman, Executive Conference Director for SCOPE Summit (Summit for Clinical Ops Executives) at Cambridge Innovation Institute. We will dive deep into the critical role of collaboration within the clinical research ecosystem. How do we bring together diverse stakeholders—sponsors, CROs, clinical trial tech innovators, suppliers, patients, sites, advocacy organizations, investors, and non-profits—to share best practices in trial design, program planning, innovation, and clinical operations? We’ll explore why it’s vital for thought leaders to step beyond their own organizations and learn from others, exchanging ideas that drive advancements in clinical research. Additionally, we’ll discuss the pivotal role of scientific conferences like SCOPE Summit in fostering these essential connections and collaborations, helping shape the future of clinical trials. Join us as we uncover how collective wisdom and cross-industry partnerships are transforming the landscape of clinical research.
