BIO Notifier® Improves and Accelerates Physician Engagement in Clinical Research,
Helps Match the Right Physicians, Investigative Sites and SMOs with the Right Study Opportunities
Boston, Mass., September 30, 2015 --BBK Worldwide today launched an update to BIO Notifier®, a website designed for and dedicated to physicians and research sites looking to engage in or improve their work in clinical research. The free member-based website offers an enhanced user interface (UI) and additional features including custom, automated study alerts for global clinical research opportunities. The platform also facilitates focus groups, allowing physicians with specific therapeutic expertise to share medical insight and expertise to help elevate patient views and perspectives – supporting a level of collaboration that helps further patient-centric care models.
Enrolling patients in clinical research remains a persistent challenge for sponsors – and one that’s increasingly straining in oncology and rare disease. While most physicians remain keenly interested in presenting clinical trial opportunities to their patients, major barriers around information accessibility, time and administrative costs remain. BIO Notifier helps streamline the process by alerting busy physicians and sites with the latest study opportunities, removing administrative pressures and ensuring patients are informed about clinical trials that could be an option for them.
“We interface with a large outpatient healthcare system with over a million outpatient visits a year and over 250 clinicians and specialists,” said Chris Landon, MD, FAAP, FCCP, CMD, Landon Research and Ventura County Health Care Agency. “We maintain disease specific registries and a separate data warehouse by disease state, and we look forward to working with this system to meet our clinicians’ and patients’ needs.”
“Making it easy for physicians and investigative sites to become more involved in clinical research is critically important for all involved and greatly benefits patient enrollment and engagement,” said Sarah Mandracchia, Head of Global Media Strategy, BBK Worldwide. “Physicians are under increased pressure to see more patients more quickly, and with thousands of clinical studies going on across dozens of therapeutic areas, many are unaware of clinical trials that might benefit their patients. BIO Notifier was developed to help physicians and investigators more easily support patients with potentially ground breaking research opportunities and optimal care.”
“BBK’s research service helps remove the hurdles that so many practicing physicians face when it comes to clinical trials and patient enrollment – especially for those of us where research is not central to our day-to-day patient care,” said Peter A. Grekin, MD, Emergency Physician. “I’m looking forward to leveraging the new enhancements to better understand the latest study opportunities and bring relevant research opportunities to my patients.”
Leveraging BBK Worldwide’s longstanding experience in patient recruitment and engagement, BIO Notifier was built from the ground up, and in response to survey data gathered on the specific needs of physicians, sites, SMOs and key opinion leaders. It saves members time and energy by matching their profile against current opportunities – issuing alerts when there’s a match. Members simply choose the opportunities that interest them. Behind the Buzz: Why Clinical Research Leaders Flock to SCOPE Summit
February 7th 2025In this episode, we meet with Micah Lieberman, Executive Conference Director for SCOPE Summit (Summit for Clinical Ops Executives) at Cambridge Innovation Institute. We will dive deep into the critical role of collaboration within the clinical research ecosystem. How do we bring together diverse stakeholders—sponsors, CROs, clinical trial tech innovators, suppliers, patients, sites, advocacy organizations, investors, and non-profits—to share best practices in trial design, program planning, innovation, and clinical operations? We’ll explore why it’s vital for thought leaders to step beyond their own organizations and learn from others, exchanging ideas that drive advancements in clinical research. Additionally, we’ll discuss the pivotal role of scientific conferences like SCOPE Summit in fostering these essential connections and collaborations, helping shape the future of clinical trials. Join us as we uncover how collective wisdom and cross-industry partnerships are transforming the landscape of clinical research.
