Health Level Seven International (HL7), a not-for-profit, ANSI-accredited standards developing organization for interoperability in healthcare information technology, announced the appointment of
Wayne R. Kubick as the organization’s new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). In this position, Kubick will have responsibilities for advancing HL7’s mission and strategic plan. He will help to lead HL7 work groups to develop and maintain HL7’s product lines and serve as a technical advisor, liaison and spokesperson for the organization. The CTO also oversees the HL7 Terminology Authority, is the vice chair of the Technical Steering Committee (TSC) and an active member of the Architectural Review Board (ARB). Kubick is also a member of Applied Clinical Trials Editorial Advisory Board.
CRO Emmes Corporation announced that Paul VanVeldhuisen, PhD,
has been promoted to the newly created position of chief operating officer. VanVeldhuisen, who started at Emmes as a statistician and epidemiologist, will assume the additional leadership responsibilities while continuing to serve as principal investigator for government and privately funded research projects.
Certara, a global biosimulation technology-enabled drug development company, has appointed Andrzej Kierzek, PhD, as head of systems modeling in its Simcyp® Quantitative Systems Pharmacology (QSP) Group. He joins Certara from the University of Surrey, UK, where he serves as professor of systems biology.
CRF Health, a global provider of eCOA solutions for the life sciences industry, has appointed Peter van Tiggelen as the company's Chief Financial Officer (CFO). CRF Health also named Claudine Paccio as the company's Senior Vice President, Delivery Services. Prior to joining CRF Health, she was Vice President of Operations for Bioclinica's eClinical division.

Crown Bioscience, a global drug discovery and development services company has appointed Eric Murphy, PhD, as global scientific director for translational oncology. Most recently, Murphy designed and implemented a world-class screening operation for a biotechnology company focused on regenerative medicine. This led to phenotypic screening and compound profiling to support both discovery and translational research programs.

In this adjunct role Ford will help Radiant Sage deliver high quality medical services to its clients. In 1998, Dr. Ford founded RadPharm, an imaging core lab and was president and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) until 2008.
US Oncology Research, a large community-based oncology research organization, has recruited its 2,000th patient to participate in a Phase I clinical trial through its Translational Oncology Program (TOP). The TOP Program provides guidance, resources and support so physicians in community-based cancer centers can offer Phase I trials to their patients.
Catalent Pharma Solutions, a provider of advanced delivery technologies and development solutions for drugs, biologics, consumer health products and global clinical supply services, will introduce clinical supply services at its 200,000 sq. ft. cGMP facility in Kakegawa, Japan. The site will provide full-service solutions, including project management and clinical supply management, comparator sourcing, secondary packaging and labeling, clinical storage, distribution, and drug return and destruction.
