OCTAGON RESEARCH SOLUTIONS, INC. LAUNCHES VIEWPOINT® QUANTUM PLATFORMProcess management platform provides foundation for data, document and submission management.
(WAYNE, PA, November 6, 2008) - CEO & Chairman Jim Walker of Octagon Research Solutions, Inc., a pioneer and leading provider of breakthrough software and services to the life sciences industry, today announced the release of the ViewPoint®Quantum platform. The platform supports optional business modules and is the foundation for the ViewPoint Quantum environment, which provides management and control of complex processes across the R&D enterprise. ViewPoint Quantum is the industry’s first comprehensive solution to connect content, people, processes and technologies by aligning and automating work efforts for challenging processes such as maintenance and management of standards implementations and content and submission management.
The ViewPoint Quantum platform provides Business Process Management capabilities including workflow, issue management, search, metadata and document storage, as well as integrated connectivity with other content repositories. It also ensures that common functionality will be available across critical business modules including dynamic reporting capabilities, issue management capabilities and powerful workflows that are the basis for cross-functional efficiency.
The launch of the platform will be followed by subsequent releases of business modules that provide functionality to support submission standards such as eCTD (electronic Common Technical Document) and CDISC (Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium) and complex activities relating to these standards such as global submission publishing, compilation and lifecycle management. Monique Garrett, vice president, Marketing, Octagon Research Solutions, Inc., noted, “The ViewPoint Quantum platform represents the first milestone in our rolling launch strategy. ViewPoint Quantum combines the ease and usability of desktop tools with the power of a platform approach. We believe that the market has outgrown disaggregated and disposable desktop tools and is looking for a long-term, approach to managing complex processes.”
Kirk Gallion, president, Octagon Research Solutions, Inc., added, “This is an educated marketplace and one that is seeking real-time solutions from a technology and a resourcing perspective. The ViewPoint Quantum platform enables us to deliver our expert services through our Integrated Sourcing model, which provides the technology and resources that clients need to complete their submission capabilities. The power of utilizing one environment to manage resources, emerging content (data and documents), final submission deliverables and any issues associated with the process is compelling and seems to be resonating throughout industry.”
Octagon will be demonstrating ViewPoint Quantum at their exhibit booth (#5) at the DIA 7th Annual Electronic Submissions Conference: “eCTD, The Adventure Continues”, in San Diego, CA on November 6-7, 2008.
