LogiXML’s LGX Ad Hoc end user reporting product integrated with OmniComm’s TrialMaster to provide powerful reporting/analysis for clinicians; OmniComm Joins Sierra Scientific and Datatrial as LogiXML partners in pharmaceutical clinical trials field
April 13, 2005 McLean, VA, LogiXML (www.logixml.com) today announces that the OmniComm Systems, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: OMCM), one of the fastest growing companies in the Electronic Data Capture (EDC) marketplace, has enhanced its TrialMaster EDC system with the addition of LogiXML's powerful ad hoc reporting tool, offering TrialMaster end-users the ability to develop their own reports and analysis.
The ability of clinical trials partners to quickly and easily integrate LogiXML's reporting and analysis products with their EDC databases has attracted several deployment partners to the LogiXML platform. The maturation of the clinical trial industry, particularly the switch from paper-based to Web browser-based reporting, is driving the industry move to include more information analysis in their offerings.
OmniComm has integrated the LGX Ad Hoc product into its TrialMaster application, providing a powerful, yet easy-to-use, reporting/analysis capability for clinicians. By providing this functionality, the end-user is able to query any data variable or group of data contained in the TrialMaster EDC databases. Now, employing an easy-to-use, Web browser-based interface, most clinicians can generate and save custom reports, including charts and graphs, with little or no programming experience or help from their programming staff.
The LogiXML reporting products are currently in use by several software vendors providing solutions for EDC, Clinical Data Management and Clinical Research. They include Sierra Scientific ( www.sierraware.net) and Datatrial Ltd. (www.datatrial.com). LogiXML partners have recognized the benefits of web-enabled reporting solutions. Web-based solutions from LogiXML partners allow clinicians on both sides of the trials (study site and sponsor office) to gather, analyze and communicate about data in a more efficient, less error-prone manner. Improved data validation, expedited trials, lower monitoring costs, fewer queries and reduction of double entries stand out as significant benefits.
"We are seeing significant momentum developing among the clinical trials services vendors to make browser based reporting a central feature of their service," said Linda Hwe, Vice President of Business Development at LogiXML, "We were able to offer an easy-to-integrate ad hoc reporting environment that OmniComm could quickly add to their TrialMaster product and deliver to market. Their decision underscores the need for zero-footprint, web browser-based reporting as the clinical trial sponsors move away from paper-based studies to the electronic/web-based studies. We are very pleased that OmniComm has chosen LGX Ad Hoc for its TrialMaster application. We look forward to working with other vendors in the clinical trial arena to enhance their products with our reporting/analysis technology."
